  • University of Leicester Sports Ground Stoughton Road, 4 Stoughton Rd, Oadby, Leicester LE2 4DS

  • What is the nearest airport?

East Midlands Airport and Birmingham Airport are closest.

Luton, Heathrow and Stansted airports are also potentially close enough to consider.

If renting a car travel times to the FIELDS are:

    East Midlands ~ 45-50 mins

    Birmingham Airport ~ 1 hour

    Luton (1.5 hours)

    Heathrow (2-2.5 hours)

    Stansted (2-2.5 hours)

    Manchester (2-2.5 hours)

If using train approx travel times

East Midlands Airport - Leicester Rail station ~ 1’15 hours

Birmingham Airport - Leicester Rail station ~ 1’15 hours

Luton Airport - Leicester Rail station ~ 1’30 hours

What is the nearest Train station?

    Leicester Rail station.  https://maps.app.goo.gl/UcyxgTjvJL92bCdCA

10 mins taxi/uber ride to the fields (~£10).

There is a direct link to St Pancras International which means transfer from Eurostar is quick.  The total journey from Brussels can be done in 4-5 hours; less from Lille.

How do locals use transportation? (public)

Local public transport is not extensive, and it is probably more efficient to plan to use Uber/taxi or rent a car for the weekend.

Anything that could help team make an easy decision, look up fares etc.

If coming from mainland Europe we think most efficient travel is going to be flying to East Midlands or Birmingham, and then renting a car for the weekend.

  • No nearby camping, but we would help European teams to find scout huts for low-cost sleeping on the floor in the nearby area.

There are a large number of hotels and some hostels available nearby in Leicester.

There are two major UK hotel chains that may not show up in aggregator sites like booking.com, hotels.com, airbnb etc

    https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/home.html

    https://www.travelodge.co.uk/

  • There will be food for sale on site during the tournament.  We are planning a Mexican food truck that was popular at the Leicester Summer Tour event last year.

Teams to find their own meals on Saturday night - there are some restaurants near the fields, and many more in the city centre.
