THE HISTORY OF EUCS

EUROPEAN ULTIMATE Club Season (EUCS)

This European tournament structure establishes an annual European Ultimate Club Season for mixed, open, and women’s teams. These tournaments will allow Europe's top teams to compete against one another and crown the European Club Champions.

The EUCS creates a base structure and calendar for the series, involving as many teams, nations and players as possible. The benefit of this tournament structure is that it creates better competition for the top European teams and provides incentives for mid-level teams to improve their game to make it to the Finals (EUCF).

These teams compete in the Regular Season to advance to the European Ultimate Championships Finals (EUCF).

EUF tournaments are standardized as much as possible in order to ensure fair seeding and important gameplay throughout the tournaments.
Regular Season EUF tournaments will be held between April and August 20th and should be precisely located to minimize travel times for participating teams.
The EUCF is held either on the last weekend of September or on the first of October in a nation offering the best bid.

With the goal being to increase the level of club play in Europe, a strict eligibility rule is in place, which encourages teams to work on new players but still gives a chance to good talents playing in smaller teams to join the roster of established ones and make precious experiences, which can be used for the development of their regional teams.

The EUCS is run by a staff of volunteers and is sanctioned by the EUF. Other volunteers essential to the season's operation include committee members specialising in competition elements such as rules, eligibility, and tournament formats.
