  • What is the nearest airport?

    East Midlands Airport is closest.

Birmingham and Luton airports are also potentially close enough to consider.

If renting a car travel times to the FIELDS are:

    East Midlands ~ 45-50 mins

    Birmingham Airport ~ 1 hour

    Luton (not worth it)

If using train approx travel times

East Midlands Airport - Leicester Rail station ~ 1’15 hours

Birmingham Airport - Leicester Rail station ~ 1’15 hours

Luton Airport - Leicester Rail station ~ 1’30 hours

What is the nearest Train station?

Leicester Rail station (there is a direct link to St Pancras International if wanting to travel overland through London)

10 mins taxi/uber ride to the fields (less than £10 so £2-£3 per person if sharing)

How do locals use transportation? (public)

Local public transport is not extensive, and it is probably more efficient to plan to use Uber/taxi or rent a car for the weekend.

Anything that could help team make an easy decision, look up fares etc.

If coming from mainland Europe we think most efficient travel is going to be flying to East Midlands or Birmingham, and then renting a car for the weekend.

  • No nearby camping, but we would help European teams to find scout huts for low-cost sleeping on the floor in the nearby area.

There are a large number of hotels and some hostels available nearby in Leicester.

If teams decide not to use our offer for accommodation, they can use various local hotels or AirBnBs, which are mostly located in the city center for 50 - 80 euros / per room. We are able to provide communication with local hotels, if needed.

In cooperation with closeby hotel in the area of the sports center, we prepare special accommodation packages.

We hope that camping at the venue will also be possible as an additional low-cost option, though the municipality/venue could not yet confirm this.

  • We will provide official tournament breakfast and dinner options for those interested. For lunch, players can use nearby restaurants/supermarkets, as the venue is in the central area. We will also arrange food trucks/coffee trucks as additional on-site options.

Food prices in Trnava are very reasonable, average prices are below 10 Eur for main course and around 2 Eur for drinks.

Trnava has a lot of local coffees and food options, we are discussing with local producers to be present on site and offer multiple options to attendees. Also keeping it local is city condition.
